The name 'SAMURAI' comes from the traditional warrior breed of Japan. The Samurai, who lived during the 13th century and later, were known for their courage and ferocity, attacking in unison with their swords and spears. This machine wasn’t just born out of inspiration but also out of necessity - to design something that would differentiate Lloyd on the shop floor, ergonomically and aesthetically.

Analyzing the shape and form of the sword and adapting it to the washing machine design helped us create a very distinctive identity. Through this washing machine, we were able to get rid of all the unnecessary ‘design details’ and strip it down to its most basic form and function. With the help of the Lloyd engineering team, we were able to create a functionality that helped elevate the form and design of the machine.
