Sharad Chauhan

It all began when two individuals decided to quit their corporate jobs to fulfil a dream. Sharad Chauhan and Saibal Datta met while doing the Symbiosis Insitute of Design's undergraduate program in Pune. Sharad studied Industrial Design, and Saibal studied Communication Design with a specialization in User Experience. They collaborated on multiple projects and initiatives during college and found opportunities to practice a multi-disciplinary approach with a cross-pollination of ideas & concepts. Apart from being very passionate about their specialized disciplines, both were open to experimenting and breaking the design school's silo-based traditional approach towards projects.

After their adventurous journey through design college, they started working with some of the leading global brands. Sharad worked extensively with global design studios like Whirlpool GCD and Samsung Design Delhi as an Industrial Designer. On the other side, Saibal started his career with a few design agencies, then led design teams at Infosys CDG, Grameenphone (Telenor Group Company) and Adobe India Design team. The global exposure not only improved their design acumen but also helped to get an understanding of international standards & design ops culture.

In 2015, both went down memory lane and decided to set up GDD. With a vision to set up a global studio that practices physical and digital product design within the same space. Together they brought in 30 years of experience & learning, thereby helping them accomplish their collective dream.
