PDF rights management

In the enterprise world, Multiple Function Printers (MFP) OEM manufacturers are thinking beyond Print / Scan / Copy services. Document Security is a concern especially when you copy/scan and send documents in an enterprise environment. Adobe PDF Rights Management is cloud server based security system that provides dynamic control over PDFs and manages the access rights over PDFs. PDF Rights Management Console allows enterprises to do overall management of Security Policies stored in the servers and the PDF documents attached with it for specific access. The Console allows Document Publishers to add specific Document Recipients and manage the level of access without setting any document password.

PDF password protection is just not good enough. Basic password protection is truly basic, and it only blocks access.

Problem statement

The biggest challenge was to imagine the ecosystem of Document Security in the enterprise world with multiple scenarios in MFP Console to Enterprise Management Console. Each use case scenario focussed on different security issues from print access to watermark embedding and then sharing within recipient group to sharing external recipient. As an evolving product, multiple validations with customers/stakeholders were conducted and multiple iterations helped in creating a clean UI for a complex enterprise solution.
