PVR Cinemas, one of India’s leading entertainment brands, approached us with a mission: make their website easier, faster, and more exciting to use. They wanted to refresh three key parts of their site — the search experience for cinemas and movies, the cart and checkout process, and the way their social media presence shows up on the website.Our goal was simple: remove any friction, keep things intuitive, and make sure users could find what they needed in just a few clicks. We also kept an eye on boosting engagement and sales, especially by tapping into users’ love for deals and offers.By reimagining the search, cart, and footer experience, we helped PVR bring a fresh, user-centered approach to their digital platform.
PVR’s website had grown over time but parts of the user experience hadn’t kept up.Finding movies or cinemas often felt clunky and confusing. This was frustrating, especially for users who were browsing with limited time or planning a quick movie outing. The cart experience also needed improvement. Add-ons like snacks and drinks didn’t get enough attention, and the process of applying coupons or combining them with payment options felt complicated. This meant many users either skipped using coupons or dropped off during checkout — a missed opportunity for both better user satisfaction and higher sales. Finally, the footer was underused. While PVR had a strong social media presence, it wasn’t visible enough on their website, losing a chance to keep users engaged and updated even after their bookings.
We designed a new tab-based system to make searching cinemas and movies simple and fluid,making it much easier to find the perfect option.For the cart experience, we optimised the way add-ons like food and drinks were displayed. We also redesigned the coupon redemption flow, allowing users to combine coupons with different payment options easily.Lastly, we reworked the website footer to better showcase PVR’s vibrant social media feeds. We proposed four different designs that kept the footer functional while giving users a real-time glimpse into PVR’s latest updates, promotions, and social moments.
